(When it came to the 35 in. strap, I did use my 3-year-old as a reference and when it came to the 40 in. strap, I used my 7-year-old and a reference. I hope that may help a little on choosing a size.)
Please note that the bags will be slightly different with the patterns because of the cuts on the material.
