Description

Pike Lake State Forest Campground is located in Luce County about 28 miles northeast of Newberry. Managed by Tahquamenon Falls State Park, there are 8 campsites here for tent and small trailer use. Campground amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well, a boat ramp for various types of watercraft and easy water access. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay, and sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pike Lake is 292 acres, and is known for its great fishing, as pike, walleye and largemouth bass are commonly caught by fishermen here. This campground also provides access to state land open to hunting, though please note that firearm hunting is not allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling. Also note that while ORVs are not permitted within the campground, there is a county road that runs parallel to the campground, providing access to many ORVs routes in northern Luce county. This rustic campground is open all year; however, the campground and seasonal roads are not plowed.
