The Scallop Shell Ring is made from the molding and casting of a real found scallop shell in recycled silver. I collected the original empty mollusk shells on a beach in Cape May, New Jersey and then sent it to a local, family owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal. The Scallop Shell Ring is made from the molding and casting of a real found scallop shell in recycled silver. I collected the original empty mollusk shells on a beach in Cape May, New Jersey and then sent it to a local, family owned casting company to be cast in multiples of solid metal. The Scallop is the birth shell for November.
Once the casting is returned, I solder it to an open double band ring with a tapered bottom. Finally it is cleaned up and hand polished with care.
The Large Scallop itself measures 3/4” wide and tall and and the Small scallop measures 1/2 wide and tall. This design is currently available in solid polished sterling silver but other metals, ring sizes and finishes are always available, email me for custom options and a quote.

Most HKM Jewelry pieces are properly hallmarked for metal type and stamped for authenticity, though some of my miniature pieces are too small to stamp but will still come with an authenticity and care card in the box.
