Makeup artist and art director Moshoodat Sanni decided to stop waiting for more positive images of women of color and start creating them herself. “I created this project because I've always wanted women of color to see the light and the magic we carry! I want women of color to be looked at on a high pedestal.” So, she teamed up with rock star photographer Joey Rosado of Island Boi Photography (seriously, his work is out of this world) to do just that. As the daughter of a two-time cancer survivor, working with Hart was a positive experience for Sanni. “We just want to keep creating images that that will allow people to take pride in who they are. We want put this in a museum. We want travel the world painting it beautiful and capturing the essence of Black Girl Magic.
