Brandywine tomatoes originated near Brandywine Creek in Chester County, PA and have been loved by gardeners since the 1890's. This heirloom produces big, pink fruits that have an unforgettable flavor. Brandywine is our go-to tomato for summer evening tomato-sandwich suppers.
Origin: Our strain of pink brandywine came to us from a gardener friend in Swannanoa, NC who has been growing and saving the same variety of Pink Brandywine since the 1950s when her father, a traveling salesman, brought the seeds back from a trip to Ohio. At 98 years old, she is still gardening strong and always grows her “Swannanoa Pink Brandywine”.
(Approximately 20 seeds per packet)
Planting Instructions: we recommend starting tomato seeds indoors in a bright and warm location 4 to 6 weeks before last frost date in spring. Transplant after danger of frost in full sun and trellis.
