At the WTO’s Cotton Days on 16-17 May, the Cotton-4 countries (C-4, Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mali) along with Côte d’Ivoire and other cotton-producing developing countries underscored the importance of advancing cotton reforms to bolster the cotton sector and to achieve outcomes at the 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13) in February 2024. Participants discussed trends in cotton trade, the need for financial and technical support, strategies for adding value to cotton, and WTO-FIFA cooperation on supporting the C-4’s participation in the cotton value chain.
