Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome (GTPS) is a modern-day term that describes lateral hip pain, that includes trochanteric bursitis associated with tendinopathy of gluteus medius and gluteus minimus (among other muscles). Previously, this condition was referred to as trochanteric bursitis.
